Android Auto/Full Screen YT Music

Has anyone tinkered with the resolution settings, etc. for Android Auto to get a differently formatted UI?

I ask because it would be great to be able to expand YouTube Music to full screen, much like Maps or Waze. I'm able to do this using my daughter's iPhone/CarPlay and it looks great on my screen.

I've submitted feedback on this to Google. I used to use AAwireless to have wireless AA on my last car. I was able to adjust the screen resolution in the AAwireless app to get apps to display full screen or split screen. This might be a YouTube Music issue since full screen works on other apps.

I think it's fundamentally an Android Auto Issue. Any app classified as "Media" suffers the same thing. YT music, Spotify, plex, etc. Back in the days when the Sync system let you shrink the AA interface it would let you full screen the media apps. But for some reason they seem to have a cutoff for size/aspect ratio when making media apps fill the whole screen. Since sync doesn't allow shrinking the app anymore, we are stuck above google's rather arbitrary cutoff

Android Auto layout is determined by the resolutions the car supports on the screen. Since we are now stuck with one size, we can't change anything anymore until Google adds a way to do it from the phone side.

I guess I might as well get familiar with YT Music, seeing as though Google is shutting down Google Podcasts in 2024
