I rarely fast charge, maybe 5 times in the 2+ years I have owned my '23. The last 2 times I charged at 2 different Electrify America stations. The first time I stopped charging on the EA charger itself, and the second time I stopped by pushing the unlock button on the car next to the charge port. Both times I had to pop the frunk, remove the panels, and pull the manual release wire. I am as up to date as I can possibly be, as I do it myself with FDRS, and recently applied the few updates that were available to me. There is no burning, melting, or damage to the charge port. Anyone have any thoughts on why I keep getting stuck?

This happened to me in December. In my case, the solution was to unlock all the doors. An open driver's door was not sufficient.

This is scary. As a woman who often does road trips alone, the LAST thing I want to do is unlock all the doors.

I think they mean you only have to unlock all the doors to remove the charger. Do as you please driving down the road.

Right, when the car is parked, trying to end the charge. When someone might slip into the car.
My mother’s cousin was saved by a truck driver who kept honking and flashing lights behind her. She didn’t realize that there was someone in her back seat. That driver was warning her, and may have saved her life.
The first thing I do with a new car is to make sure the fob ONLY opens the driver door and no others.

Yes, make sure the car is unlocked before trying to unplug a DC charger with updated software. The mirrors should be unfolded as an indication if it’s unlocked. If you still have trouble unplugging after pressing the unlock button, and you’re sure the doors are unlocked, then you may have an issue with your charge port lock mechanism that requires replacement.

Opening one door unlocks all the doors anyway.

A lot of people wanted the charge port to be locked during DC charging so people don’t unplug them or steal their adapter.

I was thinking about that on my last road trip as I walked away. $200 plug just sitting there.
