I use ACC all the time and Bluecruise a lot too. In a world with speed limits and congestion it's not often that I get to actually "drive" the car the way I'd like lol.Sounds like you have some great plans, paths and routes. It would be too much fun to live within such a close distance to Nordiq Canada's training center and trails in Canmore, not to mention world class alpine skiing. I envy you! Have you seen any biathlon there? I think the last stop of the IBU world cup for this season was there a couple of weeks ago, and down at Soldier Hollow, UT just before Canmore. The biathlon and biathletes are amazing. It boggles my mind that a person can ski so incredibly hard and then pull into the range and hit a target the size of a coffee cup saucer 50M away, or even smaller in the prone position. I'm lucky to be able to hit a tin pie plate at 6 or 7M when I've done nothing more strenuous than attempt to aim the .22.
I'm sure the car is great fun to drive up the access road to Sunshine. I've had my car for all of two weeks and put probably less than 200km on it so far. Haven't gone anywhere fun yet! I did have to drive it this morning when it was raining very hard here. The car was great in the rain, it felt very solid and surefooted. (I'm retired so I can be pretty selective on when I go out, but this morning was one of those no choice appointment keeping kind of things.) I too like the one pedal. Really took no time to adapt to it. Curiously I find the hardest thing to modulate is the pedal pressure, whether one pedal, or conventional two pedal, putting the car into the garage whether nose or tail first. I think it's because, frankly, the garage is too cluttered. It's your typical US 20 x24 foot suburban garage so it's not exceptionally small. The problem is it has too much stuff in it and I haven't got the pedal feel right yet in that situation. Parking lot pull in, or curb side parallel parking is like it always was, no problem. It's just the garage. I think another issue is I'm paranoid about possibly bending the fresh sheet metal. Don't want to do that. I need to do a serious garage clean up, although the Morgan isn't going anywhere, it has its own dedicated side of the garage.
I also did take the Mustang for a spin on the local interstate the other day and then some secondary roads home to test out the ACC. It certainly works as advertised. My prior car had it too and it worked fine on it. On that car I never tried letting it stop when in ACC when traffic had stopped. I actually did try that on the Mach E, with R foot poised over the brake pedal! and I'm pleased to say it really does work. Amazing stuff. It's a long long long way from the '57 GMC pickup truck I learned to drive on in the early 60s! One thing that surprised me, mainly because I had not read far enough into the manual's discussion of the Blue Cruise functionality, is that when I switched on the ACC on the interstate the BC came alive at the same time. That was a weird experience. I couldn't quite bring myself to move my hands far from the steering wheel ... it gives 'look ma, no hands ... ' a whole new meaning.
I shall let you know when I finally take the car on a fun drive over in the Blue Ridge and beyond to the Potomac Highlands (which aren't all that high by AB or BC standards!).
