Any Fix for Creaking Armrest?

I have a 2023 Mach-E Premium AWD with about 15,000 miles. The armrest makes a creaking sound when my wife rests her arm on the armrest as I drive. She doesn't seem to be putting too much weight on the armrest, but it creaks anyways. The armrest doesn't seem to be improperly installed and seems strong enough. It doesn't make any noise when there is no weight on the armrest. I've searched these forums and haven't found any other discussion about this. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to make it squeak less or make the noise go away altogether?

I have not heard of this issue before but maybe you can check if the two bolts that hold the armrest in place are tight? There is one on each side under the hinge covers.

Thanks for the suggestion. Just so I don't break anything, does this illustration suggest that I need to somehow pop the trim piece up and then out with some kind of a flat tool?

I just use my hand and pull it off. There are two clips behind it and I start at the top. The clip might stay on the hinge or on the trim cover. The bolts require a 7mm socket to remove/tighten.

It might not come off as easy as I show it does but that is how you do it. If you want you can place a flat trim tool back behind there and pry it off. Mine comes off easy because I have had it off a few times working with the custom armrest and console.

I have this creaking noise in my 22 Premium as well. I think I have figured it out but I have not done anything to solve it yet but have ideas.

I believe the noise comes from the "drink tray" rubbing against the arm rest console. If I hold that drink tray/apply pressure to it, the noise goes away.

I think if I slip and fasten a piece of black material between those two, it will solve the issue.

As I stated, I have not fixed mine yet, therefore this fix solution is untested.
