One of mine was squeaking and I just re-greased it Monday. I just took the wheel off, then the bushing bracket off, then large flathead in the split in the bushing. Squeezed as much lube as physically possible into the bushing. Re-assembled. Worked well, no more squeaking and really wasn’t too difficult at least for the front bar. Steeda recommended super lube which was great because they carry it at a lot of places locally. I don’t know how long it will last but it’s good so far for a quick fix.

Curious how this held up as I have some and some sqeeky bushings. Trying to figure out if I want to pull it apart and replace it with that.

So far it’s held up well, I have put about 12-15k miles and squeezing hasn’t returned. Which I believe is longer than what I got out of the grease I put on during the initial install.

I think I might just get this because my brace is like E string on a bass guitar.

Edit: ordered, because why not. I'm hoping it'll help dampen some of the front end reverberation.

I installed this last year (don't remember when). Is there something you want me to check out on this bar? I cannot say there was in improvement over the OEM bar but I prefer to have a three point mount instead of a single mount like the OEM bar has. I've installed strut bars on most of the cars I've had with the exception of my GT500 which has an OEM bar/brace that cannot be improved on.

I had to add washers under the plate so that it would mount level and needed longer bolts. None of this came with the bar and not sure if they do today or not. I bought might as soon as it came out.

They're providing 4 washers with it from the pics. Nothing needing to check, I'm just leaning towards the 3 bolt vs 1 bolt brace. I just figured 1 of the 3 panels that needed to be removed is, so mod whilst I'm in there lol.

Mine did not come with washers and used more than 4 for sure. Not sure why they do not include longer bolts. No way the OEM bolts would grab more than a few threads after going through the bar support plate and the washers under it to level it out. Make sure you do not over tighten the ones going to the strut support. 22 ft. lbs is the torque spec on those bolts.

Little update on this brace. I'm not sure why but my drivers side sticks up too much. The L brace that is where it mounts to the strut causes the plastic frunk panels to stick up because. the brace it about 1/4 inch too tall. I had the middle frunk panel off for like the last 5 months because I lost 2 of the plastic clicks (and both metal clips) somewhere in the 'engine compartment'. Finally got around to paying $4.50 a piece for the plastic ones from the local dealer and realized the driver side will actually rub the hood now. I'm not going to bother cutting it down to make it work but it's an eye sore. Works fine though. I think lol.

Mine sticks up a bit too high on the passenger side causing the plastic panel over it to bow a bit but I don't think it's enough to contact the hood. Should have let me know about those plastic clips. I probably have a dozen of them and could have sent you some or dropped them off a couple of weeks ago when I was in AZ. ?

Just a little nudge on this thread to ask if anyone in addition to Mark and Erik have tried the Steeda strut tower brace. If so, are you experiencing the bracket fit issue with the frunk trim piece and do you think the brace has any material effect on the car's handling or 'feel'? thanks

OP here.

no install issues. Was an OEM fit and install. Flatter, planted turns even at high speed (10-15mph above recs) coupled with the front and rear Steeda sway bars.

I should probably buy one since it’s not worth getting out the plasma cutter and MIG welding stuff together at that price. Lazy dog that the quick brown fox jumped over. ??

?. Probably not worth fabing one, unless you just feel like doing it, since they’re about $139 on Steeda’s website.

Yeah, on the Celicas I needed to reduce the negative camber a smidge so I fabbed my own. A little hydraulic cylinder work on the towers and installation of the brace fixed that. In this thing, I don’t need to adjust there, so off the shelf works fine. I guess I should get off my fuzzy butt and order one. ??

Mark, did you stay with the 4 OEM bolts that take the shims under the Steeda strut tower brace, or did you swap those bolts out for longer ones? Are all 3 bolts on each side torqued to 22 ft lbs? Thanks
