- 2023.5 Mach-E
Ironically, I purchased a Powerboost F150 as a response to "The Texas Freeze". I say ironically because I have lived down on the Texas Gulf Coast for nearly 70 years and it wasn't one of the dozen Hurricanes that put the Powerboost in my barn. ??
Anyways, I lost count on how many times that onboard tea-sipping 7.2KW generator has come into play. Sometimes for maybe 5 minutes. Several times for multiple days. And most times for a few minutes to a few hours.
And because of the generator having a drivetrain attached, it's been driven to the spot in need.
I've used it to power the L1/L2 charging as well, so although arguably not the most efficient method for converting gasoline into EV electrons, it's a great way to get a few KWH's into the Mach-E in a pinch.
Ford probably loves it when I point out that an F150 Powerboost and a Mach-E go together like peaches and cream.
Having said all that, I'm hurricane weary at the moment. Looking forward to season getting over for me and my Gulf Coast neighbors.
