Do we have statistics on sales by nation? Preferably broken out by manufacturing location? Curious as to where the cars produced in Mexico have been shipped in 2024. In the now-locked tariff thread, someone claimed that 50% of the production at the Cuautitlan plant was sold to other countries than the USA. Yet, this thread https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...38-sold-5-435-produced-sales-up-25-ytd.40847/ shows that the plant produced 49,281 vehicles YTD and that USA sales were 44,877 YTD, so that's about 90% to USA.

Ford produced a total of 156,076 units during the first half of 2022 and exported 147,195 of them. But the EV market is still small"

And

"The automaker announced that EV production at its assembly plant in Cuautitlan, State of Mexico, will go from 70,000 to 210,000 units, tripling its capacity."

So what’s your guess? Interpolating/extrapolating from what I’ve been able to find I’m thinking perhaps 100,000 per year, with half of them going to the USA.

Yup. That’s what I’m thinking. And that’s why the other guy mentioned “half goes to Europe”.

100k is still a low volume for a plant at scale. But Mexican labor helps bridge the gap. I can’t think of an economic way to produce at 50k and still break even on a variable cost basis.
