Friend of mine has had A few Ford vehicles over the years, and just pIckes up a ’22 Raptor 7.3 recently. So he knows his way around Ford/FORSCAN and such. He did a few mod to his truck without any issues. Told him I wanted to do the mirror tilt (as explained HERE) and he said easy! So I stopped by, he plugged in, and connected just fine (latest version of the FORSCAN app).

But… there was no APIM module listed. Tons of other modules as expected, like body control module yada yada… plugged into his own truck he saw the APIM for his big touch screen. For my ‘22 MME GTPE doesn’t have the APIM showing up as a module. Hence, unable to make the desired changes.

Has anyone ever seen this happen? What did you do to resolve It and get the APIM to show up so you can modify the settings?

Any chance your friend is using a mongoose? IIRC only some modules show with that, but OBDLink Ex is fully compatible.

Didn’t catch the brand of his dongle (teehee) but I’ll find out and report back for benefit of others. Thanks, didn’t even think of that…

EDIT: His reply was “It is not a Mongoose, those are expensive!” — and then we discussed the fact that it did work, it even found DTCs in a few modules on my MME-GTPE. He pointed out “It has auto switching for both modes and worked fine on the truck, finding those DTC codes etc.” — we were using his wired OBD2 cable, that again works fine in his ‘22 truck — hmm — doubting its the dongle.

I don't think it was his dongle and as a side note, the Mongoose is fully compatible with FORScan and reads everything. Some of the updated modules in your Mach-E are most likely not compatible with even the latest FORScan. I had no problem reading/configuring any module including the APIM until last week when I updated all my modules using FDRS and now FORScan no longer reads them. I was told by the FORScan support team that I would have to wait for their next update because my modules are too new of a version.

FORScan just updated to 2.3.50 and I can now connect to the car again and it will read and configure ALL my modules so you should try it to see if you can view your APIM module.

Thank for the update. My friend with the laptop/FORSCAN app is out of town for the holidays but as soon as they get back I’ll give it another try. Appreciate it!
