I was looking through recent trips in the app and a couple of them make no sense.

For the most part the trips it's logging are pretty standard. I don't have a commute per se but between dropping kids off at school and running errands, they all tend to follow roughly the same route, as I'm in a somewhat rural area. So it can be interesting to see how the efficiency varies from one trip to the next depending on how I'm driving and if I'm trying to be mindful of the efficiency. Usually it gives me a value around 3.2 mi/kWh, but on some more light-footed trips it'll sneak up to 4.1 or better.

Except sometimes the results it gives are strange or even downright nonsensical. Like getting 15.5 over 24.7 miles, or 18.7 over 32 miles. I mean, sure, it'd be lovely if those were real numbers but it does worry me a little to see these kinds of results. Is it just a bug in the app, or is it potentially an issue with the car itself not keeping very good track of its consumption? Anyone else seen anything like that happen?

Yeah, I have a few of those. Annoying, and you wonder what the real numbers are. I've got one from yesterday that says, for 22.9 miles, I used .9kWh, thus 27 mi/kWh.

It is buggy with the math. I've just decided that anything outside of 2.0 to 4.5 was likely a bug.

It is easiest to see on simple round trips with 1 stop, when it records 2 trips. The first one will be correct, say 5 miles and 2kWh for 2.5mi/kWh. But the second leg forgets to clear the miles and will record 10 miles and 2kWh for 5mi/kWh. Just an example but I think it is a combination of miles not resetting or what it called one "trip" is ambiguous, and the precision reported in kWh, especially on short trips, is not that great.
