But using lane centering (or even blue cruise) would mean that you don’t drive over the lines and so could fall asleep without the system knowing. Yes, you would need to keep your hand on the wheel (unless you have the fancy hands free BC), however, I have fallen asleep numerous times with a pint in my hands and not spilt it (not whilst driving I should add, officer).
No because the driver monitoring camera will see your eyes closed and start alerting you, jerking the brakes, and bringing the car to a crawl. That’s what the other poster reported happening to him due to meds. It might have saved his life.

With my prisms and high prescription glasses I can’t even use any cruise at night without the camera yelling at me to watch the road. It is disappointing.

Does the alert happen at the same place on the road? If so it could be the road lines, I’ve had difficulty with highway on and off ramps because of the fog line moving.

How does the IR camera assess alertness / tiredness? I have never had a warning about tiredness activate while driving my 2021 Mach-e. The other day, the wife drove a short journey and within 5 mins a warning popped up suggesting that she takes a rest. It was possibly detrimental to my marriage when I suggested that perhaps she looked tired. I have since tried testing the feature by yawning / squinting etc. but I can’t make it activate. What does the IR system detect and is this confused by driving position or glasses?
Mine tells me to keep my eyes on the road, but has never suggested I need to stop. It's pretty annoying that if I take two consecutive drinks from a coffee or other beverage that it hounds me.

I have found that the few times it occurs is when I have looked away from the front/windshield view for a short duration. That would include looking at a cell phone or radio screen. So I found that to be a very helpful reminder.

On this subject, has anyone seen a config bit that affects this behaviour? Ever since I got the last EU IPC/APIM update, the system has started to moan so much about "watch the road" (and even more so when using sunglasses) that I'm losing my mind.

So how to make it behave like before? That is, no useless warnings.

This happens when using the adaptive cruise + lane keep. We are not talking about "blue cruise" (not available in EU).
