I recently bought the MaxiTPMS MX sensors installed on new wheels and tires that I purchased. However, I realized that they need to be programmed by an Autel device, and the shop didn't have the tool to program them.

I purchased the TS408 tool. Do I need the sensors on the original wheels to program the new ones?

How can the MX sensors be synced to the car without the old sensors to clone? Any instructions would be greatly appreciated!!

No need to clone them. You can just program the Autel sensors with new sensor ID numbers and the car will automatically learn them when you swap the wheels.

By the way, if they’re already mounted, you’ll need to get the tires below 10 psi to program new sensor IDs.

Does the tire pressure need to be below 10 psi even when programming with the autel device? I'm assuming the car with recognize the new sensors after driving for a little bit after programming?

Yes. It’s a safety thing to make sure you don’t accidentally wipe out the IDs mounted on a fully functional car.

Correct.

If I swap back to the OEM wheels, will the car need reprogramming to connect to the old TPMS devices?
