My husband deleted my phone when he got a new phone and paired it, etc. to my 2021 MME. Now my phone is paired and Apple Play, etc. is all working. However, when I do not have my key fob and only my phone, it doesn't always recognize me. It says no key detected. Previously to the new phone and pairing, a screen would appear (although it took forever for it to appear) where I could enter my password. Now the screen doesn't appear at all. I have to start the car from the PAAK choosing the button with the "fan" symbol.
Any help will be appreciated.

So let's clear up some things.

Using the Fan button simply is a remote start. It does NOT allow you to drive the car.

If you setup your phone as a key (PaaK), it will give you an option to setup the passcode. Open FordPass and see if it tells you to setup your phone as a key. If it does, do so.

If it doesn't, then you simply need to setup a passcode again.

Thanks. But the fan button does start the car and DOES allows me to drive.
PAAK does not give me an option to set up the passcode. Opening FordPass also does not tell me to setup my phone as a key.

It does not. If you enter the car after using the fan button, and attempt to drive without pushing the power button AND HAVING A KEY OR PaaK present, it will not drive anywhere.

In the vehicle, you can go through the settings and enter a new passcode, since clearly your phone is already setup as PaaK.

You are correct. I do push the power button AND have my phone which is set up as PAAK but NOT my keyfob.
Can you direct me how to go through the settings to enter a new passcode? I haven't been able to figure it out. Everything I see has me deleting the phone and starting from scratch.

The fan has nothing to do with starting the vehicle, it's simply conditioning the cabin. When you pushed the power button, you started the car. Your phone being present, as PaaK, is the key.

To setup a code push the car icon on the screen, then Vehicle on the left, then scroll down until you see the passcode setting. Create should be the first item. You will need YOUR FOB to create it (I believe).

When you push the fan button, it reaches out to communicate with your car, and in doing so, it then recognizes that your phone is there, and thus, allows you to start the car.

In general, you should always leave your FordPass app running on your phone, and then if the car is still not recognizing it, if you bring the FordPass app up on the screen, that will usually make the car recognize that it is there.

I don't use PAAK all that often, but it's pretty common that it won't allow me to open the doors unless I have the app up on the screen...

I’ve gotten the “no key detected“ warning several times. So far I’ve just ignored it and the car started and drove fine. Possibly a glitch?

Did that and it got an error. I'm deleted my name on phone and will try to pair it tomorrow and see if I can do what you suggested. Wondering if I should delete my phone from the car as well.
