Seems like Ford could give us a tool that takes in battery size, battery temp, outside temp, elevation change, average speed, and climate control setting to get a better estimate.

About 2500. It's parked in the garage. Dealer told me same thing- mileage would adjust as I drive more.
Under your trip meter, what's your current miles per kilowatt? I find that to be more accurate, especially if you have one of the trip meters that's never been reset, or haven't been reset in a long time.

And they do - it's how they compute the estimated range - but they also subtract a fudge factor. Also, unless you put your trip into the nav it has no idea on what roads you plan to drive - so it knows neither elevation changes nor speeds. It also has to guess upon your preferred HVAC settings and typical speed limit differential - thus adding more guesses into the equation.

As for "always showing 314 miles at 100%": that would be catastrophic for Ford. They'd be hit by lawsuits left and right because people's batteries died before the 314 miles of travel due to all of the factors above.

I was looking for a tool that allowed manual input of all those inputs, thus eliminating the need to guess. And given neither the GOM or Ford nav uses elevation change, the current tools are not adequate either.

ABRP has that capability to tweak things manually, and does take elevation into account.

True, but if you tend to drive locally 90% of the time and then intend to plan a long trip on the highway that will be no more accurate then the GOM

Be very careful... My Trip 2 had never been reset. Took a trip, and the miles per kilowatt got screwed up - in My Trips, Trip 1, and Trip 2, and is now useless.

The only reliable measuring device is the odometer, I think...

Not like Grandma. Don't floor it every time but don't drive slowly by any means.
You guys haven’t seen our lead foot granny drive then.

I have a California Route 66 with an extended range battery. It's supposed to get 314 miles on a charge but it charges to 271 and the home charger is set to to 100%. Anyone have a similar issue?
Pro tip don’t charge your battery to 100% every time. Your car is not a cell phone. Also you are looking at a range estimate not a fuel gauge like you’re used to. It’s called a guess O meter for a reason.

They did. It’s called Navigation. Use the in-car navigation system and it can take those things into account. Use the Guess-o-Meter and it doesn’t know all of that. Read this:

We only get accurate range predictions if we subscribe to Fords data plan going forward? I am not sure Ford is driving for that I will need to ask Alexa to stream a YouTube video explaining it to me. Does not sound like Ford concentrating development only the things that generate them future money.

I’ve never been range obsessed in an ICE, I guess cause it wasn’t so prominently displayed? I wonder why it’s so hard for some people to stop being hyper sensitive to the GOM predictions?

Not at all. It uses all of those from past driving but knows nothing about where you are going next.
