Ok. So I’ve heard BC 1.2 slows down at turns and won’t require hand on anymore in the turn.

But I also heard it slows down way too much. I don’t know what that means.
For those that have this feature already, how much does it slow down?

What happens if you accelerate when it’s in a turn? Does it turn off hands free or keep going on its merry way like it does in a straight line, up to 80 MPH

who are you asking? no one has 1.3... it seems like the only people that would know are the people that told you about it in the first place

I don’t think anyone has said it “won’t require hands on anymore”
Also I don’t think any cars with 1.3 are in the wild yet. Where are you hearing all this from?

Maybe V1.1 may have performed this way. I have 1.2 in a 3 month old Mace E and I have not experienced a slow down. I really enjoy BC.

I’m still on the original and I have to tug on the wheel when I approaches a “sharp” turn on the highway

Someone with a 2023 (BlueCruise 1.2) should weigh in here. He's talking about when the arrow comes up below the speed limit sign to denote the car is slowing down for a curve:

I have a 2023 with BC 1.2 and it does not slow down for curves and the arrow road sign does not appear.

There's an option to enable it buried in the settings, but I don't recall the exact verbiage. I had it turned on when we first got our 23, and did experience it slow down for a curve... once.

As I recall, it was far too conservative for my taste as it slowed down to ~50mph on a curve rated for 60mph in a 65mph zone, complete with the little arrow under the speed limit indication. That particular curve is towards the end of my commute, and the car can easily take it at 70mph. Slowing down that drastically and that quickly is hazardous during commute hours so I turned that feature off right after and have not turned it back on since.

Hopefully BC 1.3 will tweak the feature so it is actually usable. Of course, now that I drive the Lightning, the GTPE is my wife's car so it no longer drives my commute route regularly.

I have a 2023 too and recall a similar situation early on and found it and turned it off. Almost forgot I had that since it's been so long since I disabled it. Not sure who would really appreciate that feature, other than those that drive like that manually (which can be both annoying and hazardous to most).

Typically before I hit an excessively sharp turn BlueCruise just turns off. You can see where it will do it on the BlueCruise map too. Here's my favorite example where it quits, then picks up, then quits again. I'm assuming this won't change since 1.3 is technically "out" and the map still shows this unsupported section.

Having said all that, I've disabled adaptive speed control so it doesn't slam on the brakes when it sees a speed limit sign. I'm curious if it will still slow down less for a sharp turn. I have 1.2 and I've never seen that arrow sign, or maybe I've just missed it, but the car does slow down for turns not outside the BlueCruise supported map area. Maybe that arrow only shows up if adaptive speed is enabled?

LOL, not a lot of useful info above, but it's my experience.

You heard wrong. Maybe, while waiting for BlueCruise 1.3, you could check out the conditions under which BlueCruise allows you to operate “hands-free” (and remember, it’s a driver aid, not “self-driving).

I don't believe there is anything preventing you from pressing on the accelerator if you want to go faster...

I would keep something like that turned on but would want it to beep or flash a light, so I could use the accelerator to keep it at the speed I prefer on some particular curve. I-5 has several curves in the HOV lane come to mind. You need to slow down, but not as much as the yellow sign on the side of the road says.
