Thanks for all the replies. One other question, does pushing the L button on the gear shift help with controlling the torque and slowing start-up? I assume it would be helpful descending a mountain pass.

Per the manual all the L is given greater engine braking. It has no affect in acceleration and does nothing if you are in 1 pedal mode.

We’re finally getting some snow in Colorado and I haven’t had a chance to drive my AWD EX in the snow yet. Any ideas on the best drive mode to use for snow or other tips? I’m running on the tires that came with car. Thanks!
I leave mine in unbridled 1-p, but did swap tires to Vredestein Wintrac-Pro. Car handled fine on ice, snow, slush.... but collected a LOT of slush sprayed in thru gaps in wheel wells to the cavities front and rear that sat on the belly pan and melted out overnight in garage.

Love CO but from single digits to 50s in the last 36 hours with snow packed streets makes life... interesting. Found very quickly that 1pd can easily slide (in Engaged but will try wisper). I love 1pd but may have to abandon in certain situations. Am going to speak with my car guru about tires. Good to hear from other CO owners...finally we get some winter!

Low is basically the same as 1PD so you could put the car in Whisper with 1PD off, then use the L button when you want the motors to slow the car. It makes it easy to turn on 1PD when needed, and off when not.

That said, I have become good at coasting with Unbridled and 1PD on, so really it is just about personal preference. But I firmly believe slowing the car with the motors is safer in the snow than slowing the car with the brakes. It gives the driver better control over the car.

...and 1-p gives you quicker transition from accel to braking and back to accell since you don't have to move your foot from one pedal.
