The OBDLink MX+ is considered to be the best wireless dongle. It doesn't drain your battery, compatible with iOS/Android/Windows, it's secure, and it supports multiple CAN protocols (including Ford's MSCAN.)

However, it's also pretty expensive compared to most of the other dongles used with car scanner and it's not compatible with ABRP.

The OBDLink MX+ ... is not compatible with ABRP.
That's a very good hint, and a warning. I use ABRP, and I really like the OBD connection via my Vgate vLinker MC+. However, due to the better low current ratings of the OBDLink MX+ I thought about to switch. Now I need to reconsider this.

Which carscanner app do you folks use on the iPhone? OBD2 Car Scanner, or Car Scanner ELM?
I use Car Scanner ELM OBD2 in the PRO version.
it’s now even supported under CarPlay.

I went with OBDLink MX+

The developer of the Forscan app makes comments about "dubious" adapters that aren't good. I didn't want any hassles so I went with the recommended product.

See: https://www.forscan.org/home.html
About halfway down the page there's a section on "supported adapters".
(note the author doesn't use HTTPS so your browser will probably give you security alerts).
It says on the FORScan page that it does not support 2024MY Fords. Can you recommend an app that works with OBDLink MX+ and 2024MY MME?

Does anyone know, definitively, if OBD Solutions manufactures all their products in Arizona? I could not find conclusive evidence.

I'm thinking about getting the OBDLink MX+ with CarScanner especially now that both my cars are Fords.. MME and Bronco Sport.

I'm wondering if you can use this combo to make performance or accessory mods? I had a similar scanner and app for a BMW X3 and you could unlock features like "use fob to close trunk" from the factory it only opened the trunk (weird) and you could change the door chime, start up graphics etc.. random stuff but it was fun to play with. I never got into performance mods because I didn't want to brick the car. But does this set up for Ford vehicles support those types of customizations?

I just moved my ScanGauge from My I-Pace to my 2025 Mach e because the Jag is being bought back next week due to 8 battery fires of 2019s. I could monitor the battery cell temps with the ScanGauge. Most of the points, I had ScanGauge, the Company, research and gave me the numbers to watch these parameters. I hooked the ScanGauge up to the Mach e and did a search for any recognized points, it uses my home modem to do this. Bingo! It came up with: Ambient temp, Battery Voltage(12v), coolant temperature, HEV Battery Current, HEV Battery Voltage, Barometric Pressure, coolant #2 temperature, gross Horsepower, HEV battery power, Hybrid State(?), odometer, speed, & instant MPG(?). The points work. Pics of charging and not charging . The suction cup mount works on the smooth dash! I mounted it next to the drivers door jamb. The Scangauge is great for displaying pids that you already have the info about. You can't find unknown pids using it due to the programing of the points. Below is the pid programing for the Jag's Traction battery volts on the Scangauge.

Jaguar I-Pace battery volts way different than Mach-e volts per my ScanGauge.
Jag advertised a 90kw battery using about 84kw of that 90kw.
Ford has advertised >90kw battery and using >90kw for the Mach-e
I have monitored my battery on the I-Pace since Feb. 2025 to watch temps in the battery and have made a table of the battery voltage, miles & % charged. The I-Pace
is fully charged 100% at 448v(charging)446v(not charging) & 244miles(a dream).

Tonight my Mach-e was, 356.5v, 165 miles & 62% charged.
My chart on the I-Pace, 370v 2 miles & 4% charged .
My chart on the I-Pace, 416v 166 miles & 71% charged
Apparently Ford has it's batteries built totally different from the Jag. I believe both batteries were built by LG chem.
During full throttle the Jag pulls 816 amps. The Ford was over 1100 amps tonight. Wow.
