Beta issues for iOS 18.

I’m running the public beta for iOS 18. Now ived today that the Phone app and IMessage app are completely missing in CarPlay.

If I ask Siri to call or message someone she said I don’t have the appropriate app installed.

What is weird is that it worked fine yesterday.

I sent in a feedback ticket. FB15084835 (CarPlay no Phone app, no iMessage app.)

Not complaining as that is what happens with Beta testing even for Apple.

Just putting it out there in case there are others who have the issue.

That's a very unique issue. Haven't seen that on any other forum yet. Mine has been working fine for the last couple of months.

I’ve been on 18 beta since day 1. Never saw anything like this. I’m on developer 8 now.

iOS 18 RC (build 22A3354) just dropped for me this morning. Have you installed it yet? Also, have you tried tapping on the Reset button to see if Messages and Phone apps reappear?

I found my answer. If you turn on “Require Face ID” it hides whatever apps in CarPlay that have this feature turned on.

I have updated my feedback to suggest that Apple either disclose this or make an exception when CarPlay is in use.
