We need more threads to remind owners that Ford's boss is unsure or disavows the MUSTANG Mach E.

Just when I thought public has finally gotten over it back in 2021.

Oh good. I was hoping there would be at least one more thread about this today.
It's only Tuesday, plenty of time to get up to 20 or 30 threads by the holiday weekend!

Did you read the article? That wasn’t his quote.

He said:
“We will never build a Mustang that isn’t a Mustang,” he insisted. “For instance, there will never be room for a small, two-row Ford SUV with a Mustang badge stuck on it. But could we do other Mustang body forms – a four-door or whatever? I believe we could, as long as these models have all the performance and attitude of the original.”
You’re cherry-picking the quote. Let’s look at what he REALLY said:

“One thing I can promise, however, is that we will never make an all-electric Mustang.”

I think that settles it.

I DID read the article, and his quote is about ⅔ of the way down. Have another look.

My mistake. I must have skipped over that paragraph. Sorry.

Farley is all over the place. I thought he would be a breath of fresh air for Ford. He always talks about being a car guy but to me it seems he’s been living a privileged car life. He has or uses cars that others purchase. Obviously he doesn’t deal with dealers with his purchase. It’s like he needs to go undercover and see what customers are really facing at Ford dealerships.

I also believe he was forced to have Ford jump into the EV game. They were late to this and the way they treat it with their dealers, Ford doesn’t seem fully vested at all in this. If they are vested then it’s dealers not invested. Either way it spells troubles for the customer.

Farley needs to get Ford out of the 1960’s with their dealership relationship, warranty payback to dealers, and other things I won’t mention. He can also stop making non-sense statements like OP mentions….unless he doesn’t support EV’s…it’s hard to tell.
