From the rumblings I have heard, Ford is working on their own API process to actually have third party apps do these tasks in a secure method. These handshakes are not the safest thing to do from a security perspective so until Ford has an API service to do it securely without having to use your own credentials they will block it. Also Ford plans to charge for the new API usage, so we will see how many developers adopt it and pay.

For now, the best option is to wait and not risk your account.
That is exactly what we need Ford to do.

The ABRP app by itself won't do anything, it's only if you signed up for the premium live data beta program and linked your Mach-E:

ABRP has since discontinued this OTA program because of it locking out accounts. If you used the beta, then you need to have them completely remove your vehicle from their server, email the ABRP devs and tell them your Ford account was locked. They should know what to do.

Ford has not published a list, that's my list since I keep track of what everyone on the forum reports as the cause of their accounts being locked out.
When did they run that program in ABRP? I did use a real-time program but it was via the OBDII BlueTooth dongle. Is that different?

Thank you. I do not believe I signed up what you mentioned. Didnt like app anyway. Although I figured out the issue thanks to replies i guess will wait for Ford to get back to me.
So what was the cause of yours? Were you using a VPN or something?
When did they run that program in ABRP? I did use a real-time program but it was via the OBDII BlueTooth dongle. Is that different?
Earlier this summer. Yes, the OBD dongle program is safe. The OTA program (no dongle) used the Smartcar API which is the bad one.

No VPN. Just used my phone if I recall. At the time I was trying to figure out charging along a desert route.

I got the same, since friday my co worker also. Only we did was connecting ABRP (A Better Route Planner) via ford.smartcar.com to the car. This was a new option with ABRP . But if thats the case why does Ford let ford.smartcar.com working for three days before it blocks, why don’t just refuse connection at the first attempt.

I just got after three persons, you need to send a mail. Send two no reply yet..

Finally unlocked my account .. you will get an email like the attached and then you can log in. I had changed my password in attempt to solve the issue, and found that I had to reset my password again to be able to log in. Looks like i have to re setup my iphone as a key .. app is asking me to do so .. will have to check with my wife's application ... took 4 days after calling the FORDPASS team
