The Mach-E adaptive cruise works brilliantly in stop and go traffic — on the 405 and also on City streets. It’s actually even more appreciated by me for handling SoCal stop and go than for long distance open road driving.I have had adaptive cruise control and lane assist on my 2018 Lexus ES 300 hybrid.
30 to 60 minute drives on SoCal freeways and 3+ hour drives to Vegas are so nice now, although it doesn’t work in stop and go traffic. Ugh! I think it stops at about 30 mph.
Automatic stop and go driving is completely automatic, as long as the full stops last less than 30 seconds. Once past 30 seconds, you have only to do a quick half second button push to wake the system up and off it goes again, dealing by itself with the traffic flow, while you relax with a podcast or your music or simply with your thoughts.
