Well what do you know? Just got an email from Ford saying BC is coming. Odd that they want updates set for 8am-11pm rather than the more logical overnight periods when the cars are most likely to be unused.

If your car is Job 1 and you're not in Early Access, you do not have BC.

We are expanding our release of Ford BlueCruise™ software updates beyond our initial set of local participants. As a member of the Ford Early Access Program who signed up for Ford BlueCruise™ early access, you can still be one of the first to receive the next suite of Ford Power Up software updates. You’ll receive between 5 and 7 updates depending on which vehicle you have, and at the end of this sequence of updates, you’ll receive a message in FordPass notifying you that your vehicle has BlueCruise™ hands free driving enabled.

Some of these upcoming updates will require the vehicle off to install. During this type of update, you will not be able to lock, unlock or enter your vehicle. However, you will be able to exit your vehicle. We’ll always send an in vehicle and in app reminder before the time you have scheduled the update so that you can make sure it occurs at a time that’s convenient for you.
Our systems monitor these updates. If your software update fails, we'll trigger the update again and keep you on the same version in the meantime. If your update pauses due to loss of Wi Fi or cellular connection, the download will simply resume when connectivity is restored.

I'm assuming this timeframe is when their engineers are available for support. That way you can get someone and not be stuck in the morning.

Yup, that's what it says in the email.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To enable us to assist our Early Access Program participants as quickly as possible in the event of an issue, we request you consider setting your update schedule each day Mon‍day through Fri‍day, between the hours of 8‍am and 11‍pm EST.

Also, note that they don’t ask for weekends. As I suspected, they’re going to a M-F business hours model (which makes sense). That way, if a car is bricked, they have a chance of getting it towed to a dealer and a loaner arranged.

But they didn't for VIP's?

For us it was a Wednesday and Friday evening schedule. (At least that is when the updates were queued--not the timing the suggested for the update schedule.)

Not if your car was made in the first half of 2021. You have the hardware, but not the software, which has to be downloaded, which MAY happen soon.
