Hi Mustang Mach-E Owners –

For those of you that have received the BlueCruise 1.3 software update, we hope you are enjoying the improved performance and new features!

As a result of the software update rollout, we have seen some questions pop up around the slider options within ‘Settings’ on the in-vehicle screen and wanted to provide some additional information. We want to apologize for any confusion.

The BlueCruise 1.3 software update is a large package, and this software rollout is done in segments as we update multiple system modules, including the in-vehicle screen. Based on your model year, some owners may experience a delay in getting updates via ‘Settings’ on the in-vehicle screen. Not to worry, this will all be restored with a future software update. We also want to assure you that the sequence in which we roll out the software update has a thoughtful process on the backend.

Here are more details if you are experiencing this:
  • When you receive the BlueCruise 1.3 software update, ‘Lane Change Assist’ and ‘In-Lane Repositioning’ will be turned ON automatically.
  • You may have noticed that if you go into your in-vehicle screen ‘Driver Assistance’ settings, there may no longer be a toggle option to turn the settings OFF. The toggle option to turn these features ON and OFF will be refreshed with a future software update.
  • Some of you may have noticed that the ‘Speed Tolerance’ settings associated with Speed Sign Recognition are no longer accessible. If you are impacted by this it will also be addressed with a future software update. Look for this feature to be renamed to ‘Predictive Speed Assist’.
  • If you want to turn off your BlueCruise functionality for any reason, you can do so by toggling off the ‘Lane Centering with Hands Free’ slider within the Adaptive Cruise Control menu in Driver Assistance settings.
Thank you for your patience as we work to roll out BlueCruise 1.3 to all of our 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E owners!
Thanks Ford. Communication from you is something that you need to do more of, it’s appreciated, so, thank you.

Lol 1.3 is rolling out and my car is still at the dealer, day # 15 of HVBJB repair #2. I am impressed however at the gas mileage of my loaner, 29.2 mpg for my 1.3 liter 3 cylinder turbo bronco to and from work.

BC 1.0 jerked so hard to the right it would take me past the white line and onto the rumble strips. I refused to pay for the continued subscription as this was a major safety hazard to me and my family.

How will I be able to test the full functionality of 1.3 without paying to be yet another beta tester? @Ford Motor Company
My 2021 does not act this way and I have confident in using it in clear daylight free of construction zones and heavy traffic.

Oh, wonderful. That must mean all the issues are fixed and I should blindly sign up for a new blue cruise subscription. Thank you for the insight.

This may come as a surprise, but when you post a comment on a public forum there’s a very real possibility that someone may share their experience, and, here’s the kicker, it may not be exactly the same experience as yours.

Contact Ford directly with your concern instead of hiding behind your device screen and lashing out at others on a forum.

Lashing out?

Exactly. Did you read your own post? ? Pot, meet kettle. I didn't say everyone had problems with BC.

And I have, many of us have, many times. Hence the question if yet another beta experience is something that Ford expects us to pay for.

This is typical of modern software development which occurs and is implemented in stages. I agree that this post is really helpful and exactly the type of communication we customers have requested for the past couple years.

Thank you @Ford Motor Company I appreciate the update and clarification on what users who have received 1.3 via OTA have been asking about. Please keep up this kind of communication in the future, it’s great to keep us updated about these new OTA rollouts so we know what to expect.
