When your BC subscription expires, you still have the auto cruise control right? You just no longer have the hands free feature. Just asking because the ability to take my foot off the pedal on long trips is a real benefit and prevents ankle and foot pain.

After your sub expires, what happens when you press the BC button?

When my BC trial subscription ended, adaptive cruse control with lane centering still worked. I lost the hands free feature. The BC button just becomes the adaptive CC and lane centering button.

I still haven't received the update for my 2022 Mach-E Premium. It's been *pending* for months now. Really frustrating @Ford Motor Company

Hi Mustang Mach-E Owners –

For those of you that have received the BlueCruise 1.3 software update, we hope you are enjoying the improved performance and new features!

As a result of the software update rollout, we have seen some questions pop up around the slider options within ‘Settings’ on the in-vehicle screen and wanted to provide some additional information. We want to apologize for any confusion.

The BlueCruise 1.3 software update is a large package, and this software rollout is done in segments as we update multiple system modules, including the in-vehicle screen. Based on your model year, some owners may experience a delay in getting updates via ‘Settings’ on the in-vehicle screen. Not to worry, this will all be restored with a future software update. We also want to assure you that the sequence in which we roll out the software update has a thoughtful process on the backend.

Here are more details if you are experiencing this:
  • When you receive the BlueCruise 1.3 software update, ‘Lane Change Assist’ and ‘In-Lane Repositioning’ will be turned ON automatically.
  • You may have noticed that if you go into your in-vehicle screen ‘Driver Assistance’ settings, there may no longer be a toggle option to turn the settings OFF. The toggle option to turn these features ON and OFF will be refreshed with a future software update.
  • Some of you may have noticed that the ‘Speed Tolerance’ settings associated with Speed Sign Recognition are no longer accessible. If you are impacted by this it will also be addressed with a future software update. Look for this feature to be renamed to ‘Predictive Speed Assist’.
  • If you want to turn off your BlueCruise functionality for any reason, you can do so by toggling off the ‘Lane Centering with Hands Free’ slider within the Adaptive Cruise Control menu in Driver Assistance settings.
Thank you for your patience as we work to roll out BlueCruise 1.3 to all of our 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E owners!
Hello @Ford Motor Company! I’m following up on this post from 4 months ago, which is a follow up to your initial promise from 17 months ago. I renewed my subscription to BC for an additional three years back in December 2023 based on your promise. But my 2021, enrolled in EAP, is still stuck on BC1.0. Isn’t it past time that you initiated a CSP for dealers to update 2021 software?

@SonicBlue You might have to take the car to the dealer. The core software update system has had several fixes in just the past 12 months, and it's possible you can't get the latest BC update because the internal updater is broken.

2021 Job 2 here. I don’t think I’ve gotten an update since 6.14, back in June or something.

It is possible that your local dealer can send a remote service technician to your work/home and perform the software upgrade. Talk to a Ford Service Advisor.

Outside of a small number (countable in 1 hand apparently) of EAP cars, no 2021s has had BC1.3 pushed to them. The last update for those cars was in late May or Early June. There’s no indication of when, or if, updates will return. There’s nothing wrong with @SonicBlue’s car, hence their complaint.

To anyone that got the 1.3 OTA but is missing the toggle switches and has FORScan: Message me and I can tell you what changes you need to make to get the toggles to show on your touchscreen.

Then Ford should clarify that to customers like other hardware/software providers: Your car is out of support and will no longer receive software updates.

As of this exact minute, they are still saying that 2021s will get 1.3. There’s no indication as to when though and none of the updates beyond 6.14 have been pushed. This is one reason some of the 2021 job 1 owners are miffed as they renewed last year expecting to see 1.3 by now.

I have no pony in this race though. I did not sign up for any BlueCruise plan as there are exactly 0 BlueCruise roads on this rock and never will be (no divided, controlled access roads here).

That makes a lot more sense. There is no way the hardware architecture could have changed so dramatically that Ford wouldn't or couldn't make BC 1.3 available to its 2021 MME customers.

Regarding BC, yeah, I won't pay for it. When I do get to use it, it's for all of 30 seconds because so many people drive like a$$holes now, and the cops mostly stopped policing speeding after late May 2020 for unknown reasons.

There are module differences between even job 1 21’s and job 2s, let alone between 21s and later. I always presumed that was one of the reasons 22s and 23s were prioritized. Another reason could’ve been trying to get 1.3 pushed to those cars before any trial they may have had expired. Speculation on my part though.

I do like the BCHO (Adaptive Cruise Control with lane centering). I miss it as I’ve been driving the dealer’s 2021 mme FCTP car for 3 weeks now and it doesn’t do that and I: 1. Am not going to bother troubleshooting exactly why, and 2. I don’t really care because it’s not my car. Mine is getting the glass recalls done Thursday (finally). It’s been waiting on the glass company since the HVBJB was done two weeks ago.
