I had the BlueCruse update done at a dealer back in Aug. They had to keep the car a few extra days because it would not finish and they had to start it over again. I tested it out the next day I got the car back and it was working. This week I had an opportunity to drive on the same hi-way and BC was not working!

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I'm sure I need to take it back to the dealer. I have the feeling I should bring a sleeping bag this time.

A few questions: a) by BlueCruise, do you mean hands-free (BCHF) or any BlueCruise (HF or non-HF)? b) Have you used BC on other highways since that drive back in August, and if so, did it work? c) are you having any issues with the car's GPS reporting incorrect locations?

Are you talking about Hands Free Blue Cruise? If so, then yes....that is normal. Sometimes it doesn't work. Usually it does but every once in a while it just won't turn on.

Blue Cruise is really Adaptive Cruise with some extra driving aids added in. At a minimum, you have to add Lane Keeping Assist to have Blue Cruise which is the blue bubble with the hands on wheel symbol at the 6 o'clock position.

Then if you enable Lane Centering with Hands Free in the Sync menu then you might get some areas where the car is comfortable enough to let you take your hands off the wheel. Has to be a divided highway and shown on the BCHF map as well as the road markings must be visible. Additionally, you must not have your turn signal on and can't be driving too fast otherwise BCHF won't engage.

Sometimes the camera is looking into the sun and that sorta blinds it so it can't see the lane markings too well. Sometimes it is raining or snowing and it can't see the lines. Stuff like that.

When using Blue Cruise and if it enables the Hands Free mode then you still need to pay attention and be ready to resume control of the wheel at a moments notice. Don't expect the car to drive in Hands Free mode for very long. It might go for miles at a time but also might drop out more frequently.
