No, @rzanzerkia, there isn't a promise of anything, and no dates have been given (unless you have a citation I haven't seen). Ford, which said BlueCruise was coming in September, then kept moving the date, has said these exact words:

“We wanted to improve the customer experience. So we pushed it back.” - Jim Farley, CEO October 2021

https://www.kbb.com/car-news/fords-bluecruise-hands-free-driving-roll-out-delayed/

Many sources have said Q1 (which ends in March), but no Ford person has said that to my knowledge. Here it says "future date". https://www.ford.com/support/how-to...s/what-is-ford-bluecruise-hands-free-driving/
Hmmm…. The actual quotes I saw from Levine and Ford both say Q1:

Mike Levine, Ford North America Product Communications Director, helped to shed some light.
Mike Levine, Ford North America Product Communications Director, helped to shed some light.

“We are already delivering BlueCruise functionality in Mustang Mach-E and F-150 models leaving our plants today, and Ford customers will start receiving their BlueCruise hands-free driver assist updates over the air in the first quarter,” he said.

That doesn’t totally clarify things — especially since Ford’s CEO Jim Farley said during an investor’s conference: “We wanted to improve the customer experience. So we pushed it back to Q1.
https://pickuptrucktalk.com/2021/11/available-or-delayed-ford-bluecruise-confusion-clarified/

Not that any of this matters, because @Ford Motor Company ‘s promises re OTA ETAs were made to be broken, but they did specifically say Q1. Lest we just flush these statements down the memory hole.

And Levine’s quote of all quotes, which belongs in the Hall of Fame for bullshit marketing speak, is: “Given the importance of this technology upgrade, we’ve retimed the BlueCruise over-the-air update so we can deliver the highest-quality OTA experience possible for customers.”

Got that? When you screw up a project and have to delay the release, just “retime” it in order to give your customers “the highest-quality experience.” LOLZ.

Our car was built July 5th and came with Blue Cruise. I think that was the first week they were enabling it.
Thanks for the info! I was thinking July was when it started, but wasn't 100% sure.

@Lady Grey, you don't have BlueCruise. You will get it in a future update, assuming your car came with the prep hardware. Depending on when the car was made, it will either be free, or cost $600. I suspect yours will be free, can't imagine any dealer having a Premium on the lot for 1/2 a year. Or even 4 months... Why was yours unpurchased?

No kidding, I can’t imagine a premium sitting on the lot for very long. They have an absolute minimum 5k markup for any premium throughout Oregon and Washington - I tried to get one dealer to move off the 10k markup even a little and was told it was a hard no.

Found the transcript, and Farley did say Q1:

Great. Thanks. Good evening, everybody. Two quick ones from me. First, is there any update on the BlueCruise deployment, including through OTA, maybe some initial customer feedback?

Jim Farley

Great. Thank you. We're shipping with marquee F-Series now BlueCruise as they leave the factory and we're going to be OTA in BlueCruise in the first quarter. We wanted to improve the customer experience, so we've pushed it back in terms of an OTA because we wanted to be much simpler for the customer than was originally planned and that takes a little planning to consolidate. Often these level 2 systems require multiple updates in the car.

We wanted to be very simple that took a little bit more work on our team's part, and so it's available. as we ship products now and as in OTA, it'll be in the first quarter and it will be a lot simpler to use. And get that OTA and update for the customer than it was originally planned. Does that answer your question?

Well, that's a bummer because during the live Q&A on the 19th of January, the Ford Moderator said Spring of 2022 in the live chat, which would be somewhere between March and June.

From everything I've seen, the moderator didn't know squat.

Did you add your car to your Ford Pass account? Check the build date first to make sure you even have BlueCruise, but my BlueCruise would not activate until I added it to my Ford Pass account and then got an email saying it was activated. But before that, when I drove the car home, when I turned on the Lane Keep Assist, which you have on with the blue bubble around the car, it would still say BlueCruise on and to keep my eyes on the road, but wouldn't work until it got activated.

Hmm, this it the live chat Moderator who actually seemed to know more than the gal demoing.
Well, if I had a choice as to who knew more - the CEO or the moderator on a chat, ...

That said, it was supposed to be September of 2021. Ford has hugely missed deadlines on this.

I agree, but seeing as the CEO said it months ago... I would actually be way more inclined to believe the moderator of the chat lol. Especially since they're hoping to have a "fix" for those having issues with OTA updates in February, I'm assuming they'd want to make sure that fix actually works for the masses when it rolls out, and their rollout takes a few weeks (at the current level). So I would say end of March or later is highly likely.

So I got my car a little over a week ago (I bought one that came on the lot) and I can't figure out how to get the BlueCruise to work.

In my digital owner's manual through the tablet, it says that there's BlueCruise. But when I go onto a blue zone highway and activate cruise control, it doesn't go into Blue mode.

I don't understand what is wrong and why this isn't working?
Have you register your car yet through the app and completely installed FORDPASS associated the VIN as a sold car and your having ownership?

blue cruise did NOT Activate for me until I did all those steps, immediately there after it worked perfectly

I spoke with an over air person today at Ford about my stuck Powerup 1.7.1 she did confirm Ford is working on a fix but its not ready yet and she had no date when it was being deployed. If I was a betting man I would not bet on Feb.

So my blue cruise had been working the first week of owning my MME. Now it is not engaging on the roads it normally would. All the settings are the same. Is it possible that @Ford Motor Company removed the road? Or is my car just not wanting to do it. It was a sunny day with light traffic and it would not engage. I drove around for another 30minutes trying to see if it would work and nothing. Hopefully it is just this one time. But if any of you have any ideas I’m open to listening.
