aha.... so when walking away from the car, it *would* be more secure to either close FordPass, and/or disable BT on your phone.... re-enabling upon approach and while driving.
No report on how many have actually been stolen, its still a possibility?
From my scan of the research, yes disabling BT would prevent the problem with the PaaK relay attack. Not sure if closing the FordPass app would for sure prevent it, since I think there might be a way for PaaK to work even if the app is closed. (Fobs are still susceptible to fob relay attacks.)

Could this happen? Theoretically yes. Likely? I very much doubt it.

Fortunately, my android phone gives me the ability to customize when PAAK is active. I set my PAAK to only activate if I manually open the FordPass app. Good luck hackers. That's one more barrier for them.
Make sure you don't miss important notifications such as door has opened from Fordpass app if set to deep sleep.
