EURO fords have optional door edge protectors, naturally with the way you open the doors on the mach-e someone is bound to catch fingers if these where added lol. Still with the front door gaining the trough as the way to open it ford could have at least added them to the front doors

Great idea! But, what about an adjoining car opening it's door into your beautiful 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E and causing a ding to it??!!

Does the car have black trim where they would go? I don't think so (at least in every picture I have seen; I'll check this out more closely). I'm suggesting the exact same color as your car where the molding bumps out. No PPF on the bumpouts (I DO have the 3M film applied to the hood, bumper, front fascia/grill and front side of mirrors).

I prefer the 3M product for paint protection film; cheaper and does the same job. And I also plan to have the body moldings put on at the same time. The cars are so new they don't even have the moldings yet.
I misunderstood what you meant, you mean that door ding strip doodad the RAV4 has as a common option.

I’d have to think that sharp door line on the bottom is the part that sticks out the most. I don’t think you’re gonna fix that with an actual piece of material unless you put a strip of film on it to prevent paint flaking or something. Might be a worthwhile thing to do tbh.

That being said my family still doesn’t park our 2008 Lincoln anywhere near other cars so I’ll probably do the same. Definitely protecting the front, problem is with the sides that you’ll totally see a visible line from the film unless you do the entirety of all 4 doors, and the rear haunches stick out even further than them. So idk the efficacy.

Besides, EV’s get keyed all the time, one strip isn’t gonna help that ;)

That is, without a doubt, the most gratuitous and cool doodad I’ve ever seen on a car. Europe gets all the cool stuff.
That being said we have huge American parking lots and that mechanism breaking gives me more anxiety than the e-latch.

Wouldn't those be an invitation to open your door uncautiously?

Why are they keyed all the time?

You would hope people would be careful, but I do like the idea of these protectors it is a pretty simple device, with the way the doors open externally on the mach-e via the button it is the sort of things that could possibly have been added to only activate when opening the door from the inside.

A far superior method of defrosting.
I was driving euro fords with a heated front screen back in the 80's sure the wires where visible when focusing on them but you got used to it pretty quick and if you could see the wires when you are driving the you are looking at the wrong place and should maybe keep of the road lol

The wires got thinner over time and we are now at the point where you can get wire free versions, the fact this feature is absent from most north american fords in a region of the world that has very cold winters is poor form.

No more wasting time scraping ice and snow, they are also very handy to switch on when driving in foggy conditions.

They have templates and it's really easy to do. You can also have your detailer (or dealer) put them on when they apply the 3M protective paint film.
Badger _prof has a post on this too I just found out. His post may be more detailed then mine. Just an FYI,

Bodysidemoldings.com now has side moldings available for the Mustang Mach E in OEM paint colors (check your paint code found on the inside of the door because he doesn't always list the exact name; blue metallic clear coat for Infinite Blue... but he has the exact color codes). If you don't see your color listed, e-mail them and they will add your color; I did. You get four side molding strips that attach to the doors with 3M adhesive. I've used these on the last 4 or 5 cars I've had and they're great at absorbing the dings from doors opening into the side of your car. The strips are not hard to install and here is what they say about installation: "Not an auto body expert? Don't worry. You don't need to be with our products that are so simple to install, anybody can apply these self-adhesive body trim pieces in minutes. All items we sell come complete with everything you need to install your body molding. As an added bonus, these products make use of the highest quality 3M acrylic foam tape that delivers incredible stability and reliability." The sets cost $129.50 but if you put "MACHE" in the coupon box at checkout you get a 10% discount on your order which he calls the "Mustang Club Discount." Shipping is also free if you choose USPS 3 to 5 day ground with tracking so the cost is actually $116.55. I have no personal interest in this company but I had asked him about offering this for the 2021 Mustang Mach E back in October when I ordered my car and he told me then he would work on it.
Here is a link if you'd be interested: Bodysidemoldings.com Mustang Mach E

'Murcins can't be trusted with such advanced technology :D Be glad you don't have to hand crank your EV to get it started:D

It ends up I returned them. I didn’t like the looks of where they wanted me to place them. They offered little protection because of the side ridges sticking out. I wanted to keep them as the color match was perfect but they just wouldn’t work. I got my money back.
