Finally got a build date!

Ordered a Premium RWD ER (Changed from RT1 a few weeks ago) - Carbonized Gray

Scheduled to be built the week of 01/18/2021

Dealer said it takes 1 - 2 weeks to build and then ships after that. I am in Southern California so it shouldn't take long to get here via rail.

No - VIN is available on Ford dealership system - Ford is not communicating VIN - just a production date (week of )

So which one should come first? Or together?

Not sure - there are threads here talking about this but I am not clear personally.

You should get an email from Ford (not the dealer). My email had a subject line "Your 2021 Mustang Mach-E order".

The first few words were "Your vehicle has been scheduled for production" and it goes on to tell you your build WEEK (but not the day).

If you contact your dealer, they can pull up your order and give you your VIN and should also be able to tell you specifically which day of the week your car is scheduled for build. (My car just happens to be scheduled for build on Monday so my "build week" and "build day" are the same.)

I only have my VIN and build date (specific date ... not just the week) because I contacted my dealer ... I don't think you'll ever receive an email from Ford with that info.



ALSO ... if there is anything you want to change on a car, you can usually do it UP UNTIL the car is scheduled for build. Once it's scheduled for build, the plant locks out changes because *some* changes can force them to build cars in a different order (and this screws up the schedule).

I'll give you an example. My dealer forgot to add the Interior Protection Package (Option 17P) on my order (these are winter floor mats and a cargo mat). In reality, when you order things like floor mats, the factory doesn't "install" them... they just toss a box in the back of the car when it gets to the end of the assembly line. I asked my dealer if I can get those added but because my car is already scheduled for build, all changes are locked out -- even floor mats can't be added. I'll be ordering those via the parts department (no big deal).

So if there's anything you wanted that you didn't get when you placed the order (e.g. want to finance in the cost of a Ford Connected Charger with your car ... which wasn't available when you originally placed the order?) you can *probably* do that as long as your car is not yet scheduled for build.

Well coincidentally received an email from Dealership.

My Mach Drop Grabber Blue FE is scheduled for production Jan. 4th 2021. He didn't provide a VIN but I asked him if he can provide it to me.

Probably because you’re in Canada. Was pretty shocked to see a fellow Brit in the UK got a build date

yeah, they haven't processed a lot of the Metric cars yet. Only the Freedom Unit cars. (*)

I dont think if you cancel you can transfer it to some one specific. It goes to dealer I think.

I’d expect it before end of Feb.
3.5weeks to build, QA, ship. Just a conservative guess though. Minimum has to be around 2 weeks I’d have thought. @trutolife27 sound right?
