Calm screen icon question...

Not a big deal since you have to toggle out of the calm screen to do anything else..

but does anybody know what the icon in the center (yellow arrow points at it in the attached picture) means?

Also: anybody know what the significance of the background texture is in the calm screen? Seems to evoke gearing or belts...but that's all I've got.

I believe it means the car is actively communicating with Ford.

Edit. hybrid2bev beat me to it. But it doesn't surprise me that it's always communicating when it's on. I think that's part of how they train BlueCruise, but there are all sorts of articles about how most modern cars are always collecting data. Now you just have to hope that they're not making money off of selling it to your insurance carrier, or worse... I think there are some settings that you can change to limit how much data they're collecting, but I'll have to dig in to find where.

The background image is the horse collar on a Select trim level Mach-E.

Haha.
It became pretty clear after moving to an EV that I'd be sharing a LOT with whoever sold us the car. I'll always trade privacy for convenience:)
