I guess we have different driving habits. When leaving a parking spot, I can't ever think of a situation where I'd manually turn on the camera while going forward, then reverse, then forward again. Turning on the camera in this "leaving parking spot" scenario would be unusual for me. But if I did, I'm sure most of the time I'd be fine letting it auto-disengage at 5mph.

The "entering parking spot and trying to ensure I'm centered and aligned" is much more common for me, which is where I'd appreciate if the camera stays engaged after reversing.
Parallel parking.

Or when someone parks really close to you.

Or a narrow parking lot.

But either way, the solution is hitting the button again if you want to use the camera.

For entering a parking spot, mine turns on when I get close to the parking stops automatically and I can see if I’m straight.

Side note: it took me months to park straight in this vehicle. Can’t figure out if the shape of the hood threw me off or what, but I parked so crooked at first almost every time.

Totally agree! I'm still learning, and often find I'm a bit diagonal. I'm trying to figure out the trick. I feel like there are some edges on the car that "seem" like they're level with the ground, but they're not. And if you use those edges to mentally align with parking lines and other cars, etc, your car ends up a little diagonal.

My wife’s Q7 will auto turn on the front camera with guide lines after reversing. This is very helpful when backing out of a spot and then shifting to drive and narrowly missing a vehicle before straightening out. The front camera auto turns off after 5-10mph is reached. I’m not impressed that the Mach E doesn’t auto turn on the front camera nor does it have guide lines like the reverse camera does.
