Can this paint chip be buffed out?

Can this chip be buffed out? If not how much do you guys think to get it repaired?

You can't really buff out a chip. Buffing really just removes slight scratches in the clear coat.

That would need to be filled with some touch up paint. Body shop could likely do it and make it pretty unnoticeable.

The Ford touch up paint works great. Use a toothpick. I have Star white and they disappear.

Just learn to live with it because your about to get a lot more lol. You can’t buff a chip, buffing is for clear coats.
Dr. ColorChip has a great product that will look much better than poorly applied touch up paint.

Short answer - you can fix that, but it's a little work and a lot more than a buff.

I had a gash bigger than that on my 2021 Select (Star White) hood. I did a fill (about 4 or so coats of touch up), 800 - 1500 wet sand, compound, and polish. In direct sunlight the mark was invisible. under indirect light or an inspection light, I could find it if I was looking for it.

I did, but it's very difficult to get right and I'm not sure if it mattered.

Touch up paint tips. I need to fill in three tiny rock chips. Scattered in same area. Probably was once one piece rock hit then split.

Can someone give me pointers. This is what i have and my plan. Ill use paint tape around the chips as close i can. Fill the chip with paint. Toothpick i read someone use. Let dry a little Scrape off the excess (my plan is to use this little squeegie used for PPF). Let dry a little. Maybe scrape again to get he paint as level with the other paint/tape.

Buff and polish with my dremel polishing tip. And again polish after tape removal?

Use a tooth pic and several coats. Patience is important. Little bit a a time and build it up.
