For the last 2 weeks now my '22 Mach-E GT has not been able to find nor connect to any wifi networks. Searching for "Available Networks" reveals no networks even though there are Wifi networks available. I cannot connect to any Wifi networks using "+Add a network" was well.

What is weird is that CarPlay still works fine and that's using Wifi. I haven't had any recent updates, last was back in March and I've used WiFi since then.

I saw this past post: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/wifi-stopped-working.32216/#post-723630

I've already tried reseting SYNC (via Volume Down +Seek Right on the steering wheel) a number of times, but no go on a fix. Also tried switching off all the Connectivity options and re-enabling hoping that may jar some setting, but nothing.

I'm hoping there's some fix someone else found.. I am about to do a full reset but really don't want to have to set everything up again. Any other tips are appreciated!

I don't know why your Wi-Fi isn't working (maybe it requires some subscription that has expired???), but CarPlay doesn't use the Mach-E's Wi-Fi.

Your phone uses its cell connection to the Internet, and it uses Bluetooth to talk to the Mach-E.

Bluetooth is used by Car Play to establish a connection to the car, but the data is handled either by WiFi or by USB. So, if wireless Car Play is working, then the internal WiFi of the car is working.

I think it is possible for the car to fail to connect to external WiFi even when it's internal WiFi is functional, but I don't know the system well enough to offer any troubleshooting advice.

I had this happen once. It also affected Bluetooth connections. I pulled the 12v for 30 seconds to reset all the modules. Haven’t had a problem since.

The car does not use WiFi connection to receive updates from Ford. Updates are done through the vehicles modem.

Any error codes?
I had this symptom when connection cable between gateway module and APIM module was not plugged in fully.

You know, yes, I did have an error code around the time wifi stopped working. I was driving and suddenly got an error that I believe about traction control being disabled. The error disappeared before I could read it all, the car seemed to drive fine and I didn't see any other error, so thought nothing of it.

What happened in your case?

Good idea to pull the power. Any ill effects from doing this like losing profiles, PAAK settings?

Thanks!

Understood. I was only stating that I had no recent OTA updates that would coincide with the loss of wifi connectivity. OTA updates can fix or break new things.

Really the only thing I care about using the wifi for is watching youtube while waiting in the car, sad to waste the big screen.

Some sync settings may change back to default like mirror settings, rear passenger alarm, but nothing serious. More like annoyances cause you forgot where the setting is to turn on or off.

Before you do the 12v battery pull can you try changing the encryption protocol being used. I vaguely recall there being a one off post or two I saw about this a year ago. If you're using WPA2, change it to WPA3. If you're using WPA3, use WPA2.

It might be easier to use a Hotspot and flipping the encryption protocol around than changing your home wifi though.

Wifi is used for screen mirroring in CarPlay. Try turning off your phone's wifi while connected and you will see CarPlay disconnect.

The car seems to have two uses for Wifi:

- Create a wifi access point to allow connections for Carplay (this works fine)
- Allow the car to connect to Wifi networks in lieu of the using the LTE modem for things like watching youtube. This is is what doesn't work anymore. It just doesn't see any wifi networks and I can't manually add a known existing one.

It's not just at home, it's anywhere. All my usual spots where I can see plenty of wifi networks on my phone but zero listed on under "Available networks" in the Wifi connectivity settings.

At this point, worth a try. I can still try connecting manually with "Add a network"
