Mine started doing this yesterday. It is continuous as soon as I open the drivers door only (doesn’t happen on the passenger side) after the car has been turned off. If I close the door it stops, if I open it it starts making the chime again. Driving me nuts!!

Have you checked the headlight switch? That has been the most common cause.

Fob-in-car reminder? A reminder that the car won't lock with the fob in the car?

There is some bug related to the headlights switch. If the switch has NO lights on and is dinging, it is a communications issue with the BCM and headlight switch. If you simply turn the knob one way or the other then back to auto it will stop dinging.

Hopefully it is an issue with the BCM not sending a wake up signal that can be updated, otherwise the headlight switch will have to be replaced to solve it. I have seen this pop up with a bunch of people. My car has done it several times.

The programming in this car has work flow issues.

It's just lonely and wants you to pay attention to it.
My cat does the same thing - meow pause meow.
I just found evidence that your cat was in my car this evening...

I walked up to the vehicle and was welcomed with the headlights on instead of only daytime running lights and side rider ponies. I opened the door and was further entertained with the do-de-doo "melody."

So I started the vehicle and checked the headlight switch... Except I couldn't find it as it was completely dark down there... I turned on a map light, found the switch and upon rotating it, it lit up the way it should be and all was fine after I then moved it back to Automatic.

Tell your cat I said thanks, and that I would've left some treats or a toy if I'd known it was planning a visit. ?
