what exactly does an ETA of June 20 mean?

I’d be asking if the quality hold and stop ship are VIN specific or population wide.

If there’s a VIN specific hold (your car only) then it could be a failed inspection, missing module, damaged component or some sort of rework required. That could take days or weeks.

if it’s population-wide Ford identified something affecting many 2026s. Examples include software updates, calibration issues, supplier issues, perhaps a new model-year launch quality check.

In the latter case there could dozens, or hundreds of vehicles sitting together waiting for the same release. @Ford Motor Company really ought to say something.

But June 20th? Yeah, even if released today, that’s not happening.

If you need a car right now, cancel the order and find one in stock. Ford is not going to speed anything up for you. Your dealer can trade/deal for a car you want on the lot somewhere.

Ha-Ha, my "First Edition" was ordered Nov 2019 and delivered March 2021.

Wouldn’t that have been a “reservation”, I didn’t think actual orders opened until 2020?

I believe @Ford Motor Company has chimed in, Said he'd get back to us. I know I'm not the only one according this thread.

If you need a car right now, cancel the order and find one in stock. Ford is not going to speed anything up for you. Your dealer can trade/deal for a car you want on the lot somewhere.

I'm not asking them to do anything for me. Furthermore there isn't any available in my area especially one like I built online to my liking. I'd just like more information and why it's on hold and some sort of timeline for resolvment. Clearly I'm not alone if you read this thread. Perhaps my background of working in aerospace for 23 years and hearing why the car is on hold peeks my interest as I deal with this sort of issue all the time.

Well as others have said, a year or more for an order isn't unheard of no matter what the current stopper is. I have a spare car for when my lease ends, and I'm confident I'll be using it for a few months before my ordered one (also in "In Production" currently) arrives. I'm just saying if you need the car by a certain time, know it won't arrive by then. Don't wait for a random Ford marketing guy on here, get your dealer to commit to a loaner or rental.

Ordered mine on May 4, 2026 and just received notification from Ford this morning that they're going to start building it on August 3rd. I'm going to guess I won't take delivery until September.

Difference being what exactly? I gave them money and told them what color I wanted. They eventually delivered.

If you’ll recall, the “reservations” were explicitly explained not to be a commitment by Ford to actually ever produce or sell the vehicle. All they did was get you a place in line to place an order (which was a commitment to produce and sell you a vehicle - sort of )

Did a online chat with @Ford of Canada. Was told all they know about my order is that it's in production and has an ETA of June 20th 2026. But can't tell me why it's on quality hold or stop ship for that matter. So what exactly does an ETA of June 20 mean?

Did they tell you it is on hold, or just that it has an eta of 20 Jun?

Both. But said it can be on hold for various reasons.
