I live in silence with CarPlay every couple days. From what i can tell it's something to do with my phone flipping from home wifi, BT, Cell, Back to Wifi, back to Cell, and then dropping cell. It got worse once I put a local VPN on the phone to help block ads on the cell network. The real odd thing about mine is it'll actually turn the audio fully off most of the time. My volume knob has also just randomly turned down a notch or two. Usually when it shuts the audio off full it was set to 2, or 3 on the volume the night before. (I usually turn the audio way down as the parking assit (from the camera, lowering the volume had made me forget it was on 10+ when I pulled in the garage, so the next morning I get blasted, usually by my daughters K-pop.My wife got the carplay no-volume silence bug the other day when I wasn't with her, and she was furious. She couldn't hear me on the phone, either. So by text message I told her to try rebooting sync by pressing ffwd and volume down simultaneously for 10 seconds, but she was pushing the volume button *in* rather than *down*. So, she had to drive home with no music. When she got home I had to show her how to do it (sorry, dear, I meant *downwards* not *down*) and then be extra nice to her for an hour or more before she calmed down.
It makes me realize how tolerant I am of all the little tech glitches, and how important it is for me to solve them. If my wife wasn't married to me and bought the car herself, she might be starting to think about selling the car, especially after one bad supercharging experience.
