CarPlay resets every time?

I use CarPlay for everything from Waze to Spotify to phone calls, etc. Every time I exit CarPlay to check the map or look at the radio stations or check the tire pressure… or whatever, when I go back to CarPlay, it always defaults to my favorites on the phone app, which is one of the few things I never use. Is there a way to suggest to Ford that they adjust this setting?

Same here. But if I use the car play button up top I sometimes get back to Spotify and the album art.

I've never had this issue since the inception of CarPlay and across multiple iPhones and vehicles.

Can you fill in some detail?
iPhone model?
iOS version?
wired or wireless CarPlay?
Are you going back to CarPlay via the CarPlay icon on the top toolbar or another method?

It is because you're clicking the bluetooth tile that takes you to CarPlay, which defaults to the phone screen. Click the top CarPlay icon and you won't have this problem.

This is correct. It appears that with a fairly recent OTA update in the 6.x range, Ford has mostly eliminated the redundant phone tile when using CarPlay, to avoid this confusion.

Thank you all! Folks were right that using the CarPlay button up top avoids this “default” back to phone favorites. Still don’t know why that’s the setup for the tile button, but I’m moving on and enjoying my ride.
