This is tricky option. When I plug into Charger my FP shows a blue banner waiting to charge etc and when I click it there is option to charge to 100 % and when I click that it starts charging right away. But not always reliable in how this works.

the other way I had to do it is to change the toggle Radio button to uncheck preferred times and it starts charging right away.

You are right that there is no reliable way to do this

Turn off locations in the Sync screen and that will force charge now to 100%.

Also the button in the FP app will do the same thing for that one override instance.
