Hey, so has anyone experienced the charge port button not stopping a charge? I had a problem with this recently where I didnt have phone connection or wifi and i couldnt stop a charge through the app because I had no service.

Luckily walking around the area I was able to stop it through the ford pass app. Anyone else have a problem with the button?

Additionally, if you have physical access to the charge port button, the release button on the L1 or L2 charger will serve to stop the charge. Releasing the latch flips a switch in the charge port that signals to the car to stop charging. The car stops the charge somewhere between immediately and 3/4 of a second after the switch is flipped. You can probably hear the car stopping the charge. You can then safely unplug. ??

Gotcha! Yeah, I tried to unlatch through the L2 charge wire button, but maybe I didnt pull hard enough, but I was also too scared to mess up the port of the car.

You don’t want to pull on the charge cord. Just depress the latch and wait to hear the car disconnect. They you can detach the cord from the car. ??

Pushing the J1772 latch is how you stop the charge on a Level 2 charger. Unlock button is only used for DC charging.
