I do wish all these charge assist apps would list the latitude and longitude of each charger so it can easily be entered into one's preferred navigation system.

Sure, mostl list an address, but frequently, for highway or rural locations, those addresses are in some non-standard format navigation systems don't recognize.

I have been using Chargeway daily on my current 10,000 mile road trip and, otherwise, like it very much.

It seems the technology should be there to filter out high prices. I haven't seen any app with that option. It looks like many of the prices at DCFC stations located at auto dealers are not accurate on this app. It will state something like "Charge prices determined by the station owner". We don't have many of the big name chargers around here. I don't see a way to add the price for the next guy.

I’m doing the 30 day free trial to test it on a one stop trip to Pittsburgh from DC.

What questions do you have?
Anything that you want me to test?

Hey Dan I noticed the charger you choose will have a link to navigation and I can choose Google maps.

So that made me curious if you use this find a charger and hit the navigation button will Google maps trigger the preconditioning in our car?

I'm going to play with it next time I go to a charger. But when I looked at a local Tesla Charger in the app it opened Google Maps with just the address and didn't say Tesla supercharger so it may just navigate to that Wawa address without turning on preconditioning.

I'll check the EA navigation and see how that does.

(not sure if you're using Android)

Thanks!

Interesting, I believe Chargeway uses the Smartcar API, which Ford loves to block due to being non-compliant with their privacy policies.

You’ll have to let us know if your Ford account gets locked or not in a few days.
I have the problem where I have to reset my Ford account password anytime I connect my vehicle to the Chargeway app. Is there a fix?

Don’t use Chargeway. That’s the fix. As has been stated in ms y threads, the app violates Ford’s privacy policies. Using it can get your a. Punt locked.

I hear what you're saying, and I know you're using a shorthand for "Chargeway+ with integration", but I want to draw out the distinction for people who might want to give Chargeway (without the plus) a go.

The integration, and therefore the risk of being blocked, is on Chargeway+. You can use Chargeway+ without the integration. I set up the integration, and I was not blocked while using Chargeway+, but I only used it for a month, so maybe I reduced risk by reducing exposure.

There's no risk to using Chageway(without the plus) because there's no integration with your Ford vehicle on Chargeway (without the plus), so there's no privacy policy to violate.

There's also no risk in using Chargeway (without the plus) if you ignore the integration.

So... if all you want to do is use the free version of Chargeway or you want to use Chargeway+ without integrating it to your vehicle, you don't have any risk.

/pedantic

That doesn't let Chargeway (the company) off the hook for some decisions:
  • There's no "help with errors" (avoid mistakes) in their set up. I agree with the spirit of @Kamuelaflyer - you could just breeze through set up of Chargeway+ and put yourself in API jail without realizing it. Even if you aren't concerned with API Jail, it would be nice to see Chargeway (the company) explain the risks.
  • Chargeway is a small company. To grow, they need to work closer with @Ford Motor Company and vice versa to make privacy work. There are two in a tango here.
  • The naming is confusing! How many Chargeways are there? Three:
