Hi,
I am a forum newbie so I hope this inquiry is posted at the right location. I have 2023 AWD California model vehicles. I wanted to ask if the vehicle, Ford app, or both can provide charging costs based on the local utility rates (Kitsap Washington). A friend showed me that his Tesla can through the app provided.

Thanks, in advance, for the responses!

I have not seen that anywhere on the Ford side. I have a ChargePoint Home Flex and it provides the information you are looking for. I am guessing other EVSE apps would as well.

Thank you for the response! If Ford ultimately does not provide this data, then I hope Ford will soon.

The problem with getting the data from Ford rather than the EVSE is that you don't get the true kWh used from the car. Only from the EVSE.

PSE on average comes out really low on a monthly basis…about $.11 - $.13 per kWh give or take. so the math is usually pretty easy to calculate.

As noted, Ford doesn't provide the data. In addition, since the Ford Mobile Charger has no intelligence, it has no idea. If you get 100kWh in the vehicle, the house sent more, i.e. roughly 111, and then there is loss. An intelligent charger will show you that, but not a dumb charger.

And that's only the usage. Virtually no charger brings in the COST per kWh, on some apps you can input that. Or just do the math.

I should have mentioned that the Mach-Es will be used in my rideshare program and primarily charged at home on a 120v source. Still figuring out a reasonable reimbursement process as kw/h rates vary with standard home charging.

The efficiency loss when using 120V is really high. Any chance you can get a 240V circuit installed?

Thanks. I thought about that as well but am also considering scaling to a larger fleet and a simplified reimbursement process.

The Mach-Es (8 vehicles) will be used in a Rideshare pilot where the driver plugs at home using the power source available. I would be ideal if all drivers had a level 2 source at their residence.
