There are certainly downsides to it being so hot out but efficiency ain't one of them. Even running the AC at 70°F. NH is not AZ. Hot here is 90 (indexes around 96). But we got lots of trees (and I have a garage). I don't have too much trouble keeping Sheeba out of the sun which I mostly do for my comfort not hers.
