Plugged my 23 mme GT in at 2:30 p.m. today and it was still charging at 3:15 p.m., however I have restricted it not to charge between the prime time hours of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.. Second time this has happened. Will it self correct?

It's not a time restriction it's a time preference. If the car thinks it won’t reach your desired SOC within the charging preference timeframe then the car will charge outside of your preferred times. Especially if you are using L1 charging.

You can also check in FordPass that you have 'Use Prefererred Charge Times' selected instead of 'Charge when plugged in'.

If you have a smart charger, set a schedule on it to prevent charging during peak power pricing.

Yes, did that.

You're trying to avoid the peak hours in SE Michigan. @hybrid2bev's answer is right on the money. Move your target % lower so it doesn't try to start - but if you're using 120v then it's going to start anyway.

Here's the solution for 12v charging - WiFi outlet - can't charge if the outlet isn't giving it power. Set the outlet for on except for 3 - 7PM M-F.

I also told Ford pass to stop charging and it would not, so I had to go unplug my car.
FordPass' Stop Charging is really Pause Charging, for a minute. You're using 120v, aren't you?

Interestingly enough, it has always worked pretty well using 120 in my garage. Can the Alexa-type plugs handle the amperage? If so, I like that idea and I have one ready to go which is rated for outdoors

The issue is the car adds 1.2kW per hour with 120. You have a 91kWh battery. Do the math. Can it finish charging during your designated period?

Let's assume you set the hours of 7PM - 3PM for charging, that's 20 hours. 20 x 1.2 = 24kWh. 24 / 91 = 26%. So, if you are down ~26% or more from where you want to be (i.e. you're at 60% and charging to 90%), it can't make it, so it starts NOW.

Of course it's not that accurate, so even if it could make it with 30 minutes to spare, that's too close.

You have two solutions. 1) Unplug during peak hours. 2) Put an outlet timer on it like I showed above. Set it for being On only during off-peak hours. Problem solved.
