Happend to me the first winter, and seems it happening again this winter :/ Whole thing had to be replaced the first time too as it got pushed into the car like yours.

This happened to me on Wednesday made an appointment at my dealer for Thursday and had the car back by the end of the day with a new charge door all covered by warranty.
