I have a 2021 Mach e with less than 15,000 miles on it. I also have the extended range battery with a stated range of @ 300-330 miles. Over TG I took my 2nd ever road trip from SW FL to Raleigh NC.
I mostly used a level 1 charger, that is all my condo assoc. allows, but on the trip I used all fast chargers, Tesla, Electify America, EVgo, etc. I was never able to charge more than @ 225 miles as the car was telling the charger that that 100% was capacity. Attached is a screen shot of one of the charging attempts.
Any clue what is going on?

The answers are going to be too long.
Here are a few threads based on the keyword “range” in the title.

https://www.macheforum.com/site/search/3389809/?q=Range&c[title_only]=1&o=date

Just FYI, charging past 80% on a DCFC is a waste of time since the charge rate drops significantly after 80%.

Charging to 100% at DCFC? Repeatedly? Why?

I had been driving since 5:30am and it was 5:00pm and I still need to drive another 4 hours. Most of the charging stations were in shopping centers on Black Friday and they was constantly a wait. I was charging every 2 1/2 hours. I wanted to get home!

Wow, you wasted a ton of time charging to 100%. Since you're new, you need to understand that charging to 100% is a complete waste of time. You'll actually reach your destination faster if you only charge to 80% or less and make a couple more stops. That seems counterintuitive, but it's actually faster because of the charge curve getting extremely slow above 80%.

I fell all sorry for all the people you held up at the charger on Thanksgiving while they were waiting for you to needlessly charge to 100%. Some of them were probably pretty angry with you for hogging the charger that long.

You probably spent like 6+ hours charging instead of less than 2 hours with proper route planning.

Lesson: Only charge to 80% on DC chargers, not 100%.

The colder weather, the speed you were driving, running the heater probably affected your range downward. Mine has gone down considerable since it has turned colder this fall.

EA is cutting some chargers off at 85% in a trial.

I have had my Mach for 2 1/2 years and have only drove around town and L2 charged. The only reason I know the rules of the road for DCFC is the sage advice shared here on the forum. Next trip you will know better and save yourself a little time!

Thanks for softening the sermon(s) a member can unwittingly trigger by posting their story.

The advice is legitimate.
The delivery, sometimes, not as gentle as yours.

We are giving you the info that you asked for. People get tired of saying the same thing every other day. The range discussion and charging etiquette threads went on for 10+ pages 2 years ago. People just roll their eyes when another one comes up. Especially from someone who has been a member since 2021. ?

The op asked why their ER battery is showing such low range given they have an er battery.

Range is the cars guess. You have a lot of chargers on your route, dont overly trust the guess. Drive till you get to about 10 percent charge. You might be surprised how much range you really have.

Or, you are driving fast. Speed is the number one killer of range. You get somewhere faster by not driving so fast. The sweet spot is between 65 and 70 probably. Other range killers are excessive climate control, cold weather, climbing, poor braking technique, having a trailer or rack. Climbing at least you get back.

There is an app called trips, comes with the car. it will show you efficiency in miles per kwh. I usually do 3.5 to 3.7 on the freeway on a 70 degree day at about 67 mph. If you are getting 2.5, which is about what that range indicates, change your driving habits. That's what i get at 75 mph. You can work out the math, you end up with several extra charging stops per day.

And charge efficiently at 80 percent like others are saying. An empty battery charges faster, a full battery charges slower between 90 pct and 100 pct is very slow. You should be charging for about 30 minutes to 40 minutes ( 10 pct to 80 pct) which should give you 200 miles in an er and thus about 2.5 to 3 hours of driving. Your time charging should be about 15 percent of your overall travel time, which is more than with an ice vehicle, but just stretch your legs.l and enjoy the ride. I always look for chargers with snacks and especially tacos. Love a good road taco.

OP, when you get a chance it might be worth your while to watch some of Kyle Connor's content on his "Out of Spec" YouTube channel. But essentially your mistake was DCFC past 80%. The speed at which the car charges dramatically slows down after 80%. I guess it's harder to push electrons into a fuller battery than it is gas into a tank. 20% to 80% can take less time than 80% to 100%. Look at Connor's 10%-80% challenges, these are supposed to mimic road trips.

We all had to learn our lessons regarding EVs, most of us the hard way like you. Good Luck and Enjoy the next road trip even more!!!
