I ordered my Con-Plates Interior License Plate Holder from the dealer directly about three weeks ago. The reviews were mixed but I wanted an alternative to drilling holes into my Mustang Mach E 2022. I was lucky enough to pick it up from the dealership before they drilled any and I was not about to drill any myself. I paid an extra $50 dollars to the DMV in my state in order not to have to use a front plate. I needed this strictly for the back window. As I said, the reviews were mixed on Amazon.

The two issues that people reported were rattling and falling off due to the suction cups. I figured I would still give it a shot as there is a special presently as of this review and it’s a perfect solution for me. I found their Facebook on their site which gave a number I could text.

I texted and asked before ordering if they rattled. The response was no and if it did it would only rattle if a bump. I thought that this issue would easily be mitigated by putting four rubber washers between the LP and the plastic if needed if it did indeed rattle so not really a big deal.

They shipped promptly. This is about the only saving grace of this product…. I think I know why they were pulled from Amazon...

First thing which isn’t a major issue, the frame covers a lot of the LP. I am not sure why it’s really needed. I feel this could be thinned out. Second, it does feel like cheaper plastic. This was another complaint on the reviews. Those are minor and probably really easily addressed if Con-Plates actually cared. Here is where it gets bad though. Their site boasts about it being “scientifically engineered” and “proprietary design”. Then why does it rattle and fall of the back window every 24-48 hours? Moreover, if you make such claims, you would back them up. This is what is considered to be faulty! Upon texting them with the same number on their FB page, they responded with the following:

“Sorry for that. Doesn’t happen often. You can find other suction cups online or Amazon. We will not reimburse for suction cups.”

I do not even want reimbursement. I want the product to work without having to spend extra on another product. No where on their site does it say, “Materials needed: Suction cups that you buy separately because the ones we will send you are poo.”

A reviewer said they were able to use the following product:

It just sucks that I have to buy these myself and that they are not provided already when there is plenty of reviews suggesting this is an issue. You think after so many complaints Con-Plates would take ownership of the issue and resolve it.

I think the idea of this product is great and maybe with some real “scientifically engineer[ing]” and a redefined “proprietary design” to address the suction cups, rattling and the few other little QoL changes, this would be a great product. I cannot believe that someone else hasn’t jumped on this yet and stole the idea from Con-Plates yet…
