I have the same issue when I go duck hunting. Everything's just covered in wet silt so the camera doesn't work. ??Backup camera is utterly useless here in western Oregon during wet season (Oct - June); just gets covered with mud each time I drive. It really needs a washer spray like the front - I guess it never rains or gets muddy in Dearborn!
You beat me to it. I'm not old, but old enough to have had most of my cars not come equipped with a backup camera. In fact my Mach E is my first such car. I still look over my shoulder 95% of the time when backing up. I guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks. OK, I guess I am old ?I’ve found looking backwards when backing up helps.
I never understood why they didn’t put a washer on the rear camera like they have for the front camera. Pretty stupid, given how filthy it gets.I think the better solution would be to have a washer for it like the front ones. I’ve seen some cars with that feature, don’t remember which.
