In the vast majority of cases, this is not true. In my case, I drove about 17 miles and got an SSN while doing nothing other than listening to talk radio while in line to be checked in for service. Still not a dangerous situation. The dealer I took mine to even told me that I could drive the car until they had an appointment available. ?To answer my own question, dealership said
" The vehicle will have to remain with us because it is currently not safe to drive as it may lose all power randomly or even cause more damage "
