I'm actually surprised how well it handles sunglasses. I expected it to yell at me more than once while wearing them and driving but it's able to detect my open eyes despite the dark lenses.

Yes I agree. After reading comments and thinking on it the issue is definitely my hand being at the 12 position. I have never needed to read the manual for any of the other cars I owned but obviously this one is a bit different. I am going to read it over.
There are many features that other cars haven't had. Can't tell you how many "my car zooms to high speed for no reason" and "it starts navigating by itself" threads there are...

Hubby has this issue and he wears glasses. I wonder if his glasses are blocking the Mach-E's eyes?

LOL. I only ever use hands free through Car Play so its really frustrating when I am trying to take a call and my car mutes the person on the other line and starts barking at me to keep my eyes on the road.
How do you use Blue Cruise through CarPlay? Blue Cruise as stated elsewhere in this thread is not eyes free.

I am just saying I utilize all the hands free tech so that I can keep my eyes on the road. Blue Cruise is obviously not utilized through Car Play.

Does anybody else have the issue with their cruise control where they set it, and then a few minutes later it starts to beep and say something like "keep eyes on the road" and I think there is another warning but I can't remember exactly what it says. This has happened to me when in the blue cruise mode and also not in blue cruise. I am thinking it may get triggered by any kind of phone usage but I can't quite pinpoint the trigger yet. It makes using cruise control extremely inconvenient.

Outside of this I am absolutely loving my MME.
This actually happened to me the 2nd day I was driving it. I was looking straight ahead - nothing unusual, no phone use, no looking at the nav.

I even tried wiping the sensors.

It eventually got to the "pump the brakes" warning, so I manually turned off cruise and then restarted and I haven't had a similar incident since.

I have found that I trigger it when wearing sunglasses and holding bubba (a big coffee cup) in one hand just high enough. I figured that mach-e was seeing a phone basically in front of me and couldn't get a good bead on my eyes. If I keep bubba low enough, no warning, but my normal position will trigger the warning.

Worse than that warning is the "keep hands on steering wheel" in non-blue cruise. My hands are on the wheel & it so goes off all the time. Steering wheel sensor is horrible.

I also get this message if I stare straight forward at the road without moving my eyes for a long period.. I just move my eyes or head and it goes away.

So I am also experiencing an issue where my car barks at me to keep my eyes on the road, while my eyes are pointed directly at the road. I wear glasses and it has occurred both with and without them on(which is dangerous since I'm blind as a bat), Hands Free BlueCruise and Hands On BlueCrise make no difference either. My wife saw this happen as well while I was behind the wheel.

Do you drive with your hand at 12?
