Crying in my beer today... ~$27k repair estimate

Was the repair estimate so high because of damage to the unibody or battery pack? It looks like two doors need replaced , maybe the door pillar, and repair of fenders. Also what is sad is that a $65k MME GT that is two years old sold for $33k. 50% depreciation.

Yes, we repair this type of damage. Your car isn't seriously damaged, so the repair is simple.

1) Went on vacation last month.
2) Allowed adult house sitter access to 2023 Mach E GT.
3) House sitter gets a side impact from a service van backing up in a parking lot - unavoidable and not their fault.
4) Estimate just received? ~$27k.
5) Crying in my beer, knowing I only paid $33k for it with 14k miles 6 months ago.
6) Screaming in my beer knowing that I just put 4 new tires on it the week before we left on vacation.
7) Throwing beer mug at wall while screaming knowing it will be totalled.

If anyone has a Rapid Red 2024-25 GT to sell....I'm now on the hunt.

So, an update. The final chapter to this sad saga was that AutoOwners - the other party's insurance - totalled it and paid me more than I expected.

I bought that loaded 2023 GT AWD with 19k miles on it for a bit over $36k just 5 months ago and only added a couple thousand miles to it before it was wrecked. AutoOwners paid me ~$35.5k! Woot!

Here's the loaded 2025 GT AWD that I just bought USED for $41k with only 161 miles on it. That's about 1/3 off of the sticker of $61k.
It's got 2-3 minor paint issues that need to be fixed, hopefully by the dealer, but nothing a couple of thousand from me wouldn't put right. I think I got a great deal but time will tell.

1) get a house sitter
2) let them drive around
3) Get hit by someone with AutoOwner's insurance
4) Go find a deal on a GT or Rally.

1 and 2 are necessary as I don't want to get hurt.

J/K. Hopefully everyone is OK and JP can stop smiling from the crazy deal you got (and in the only color better than Rapid Red). Both still don't beat the Metallic Ruby Red with tinted clear coat on my 2016 GT.

Looks like a great deal, and that green is really really nice.

A few undisclosed paint issues by the selling dealer, but nothing $1-2k won't fix. Will still be a good deal.

Couldn't find a gently used loaded GT AWD with "Molten Magenta" (red).

Finally saw Molten Magenta. That is pretty close to the Ruby Red from 2016. So much deeper.
