Dash screen off & on cycling while driving

Yesterday while driving, the dash screen went through a shut down, turn off, and turn back on repeatedly for a half an hour or so. I exited freeway to turn off car for a minute, but the cycling continued. Eventually, it resumed normal functioning (still while driving...literally when my husband picked up the phone to hear the report of the malfunction!).

Has this happened to you? Any idea what's going on?

Uh, what's that thing you have over it? Maybe it's overheating if that cover is trapping heat.

1. Thing is Dash Tray
2. Have had tray on since Dec
3. Day of the issue was the first time ever using AC in the vehicle, but it was not even 55 degrees outside.
4. Maybe the tray did make the screen too warm given the increase in temperature overall? Car had been sitting outside under sunbreaks for a few hours. Issue began about ten minutes after starting car, and minutes after turning on the AC.
5. When I got out of traffic and was able to drive over 50 (and took off the tray), the screen resumed Nirmal functioning.

Shutting off happened today, sans dash tray and on a cool day. Started happening just minutes after I started driving. Resumed normal functioning at the same spot as last week - a bump in the road (road jointa).

3. Took tray off following last week's incident.
4. Happened again today (cycling on and off) with tray removed.
5. Screen resumed normal functioning today and last week at the same spot on the road...where some highway joints are more pronounced.

Finally resolved around Feb 2024. It was a Waze/Android auto/Ford communication error. Not sure which/whose update fixes the error, but I am glad to have access to Waze again!
